Introduction to the RAIN Practice

Saturday, June 1511:00 AM—12:00 PMMurray Conference RoomReuben Hoar Library35 Shattuck Street, Littleton, MA, 01460

“Being Mindful in the Moment” will introduce an approach called RAIN: Recognize, Accept, Investigate, and Nurture. The first class will provide an overview of RAIN as a technique to reduce our reactivity during stressful situations and we will begin to explore the ‘R’ of RAIN – ‘Recognize’. The next three classes will focus on the remaining aspects of RAIN: Accept, Investigate, and Nurture. The final class will bring all aspects of the RAIN technique together as we practice the full RAIN sequence.

This class is being offered by Littleton resident Bobbie Dressel. Bobbie is a mom of three girls and has been practicing meditation for 10 years. She is in her second year as a student in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) offered through the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley. "In our busy world, mindfulness meditation gives us the opportunity to take a moment for calm and relaxation. The more we practice mindfulness meditation we will find it reaches beyond our practice and helps us remain calmer throughout the day."
