Teen Dungeon Master Boot Camp

Wednesday, July 122:00—4:00 PMMurray Conference RoomReuben Hoar Library35 Shattuck Street, Littleton, MA, 01460

Are you familiar with Dungeons & Dragons and want to try running a game yourself? Have you heard of the game and want to put one together for your friends?

Join James for three sessions of basic training on how to be a Dungeon Master! The topics we cover include:

  • At the Table (7/12): What you need to know in the moment as a DM, including how to describe important rules in easy-to-understand ways, how to streamline combat, and how to make a ruling on the fly!
  • Before the Game (7/19): How to prepare for a session with your players, from coming up with fast and fun encounters to making sure your players always have another way forward if they fail an important skill check.
  • Behind the Screen (7/26): When you need to make a world full of adventure that is intriguing and engaging for your group, we'll look at how to design factions, places, and people that make your setting feel like a living thing.

This event is a Teen Summer Reading event for ascendant 6th graders and up. Space is limited to six seats, and signing up for one session will sign you up for all of them. (If there's enough interest, we'll run an encore series in August!) Each participant will receive a set of dice and a notebook, as well as a list of helpful resources for when you're preparing for your next adventure.

Registration for this event has now closed.
